11. Disney Concert Hall

1. Dodger stadium is an iconic place that is in the hearts of many Angelinos. The stadium was built in 1962 and is one of the oldest stadiums. Dodger Stadium was completed in 1962 and is the third oldest ball park besides Fenway (1912) and Wrigley (1914). It is worth a visit to the Dodgers official team store and picking up a few gifts for the family. Baseball is a big part of American culture and history hence the reason it is worth visiting.

2. The Hollywood sign is a must see for out of towners. The sign was originally built in 1923 as a temporary advertise for a teal estate developer. The signed stayed due it’s popularity and recognition it gave the area. The sign is located on Mount Lee in Hollywood Hills in the Santa Monica Mountains. It is worth the visit for the photo shoot alone.

3. TLC Chinese Theater is an iconic site in Hollywood for its famous cement imprints of Hollywood stars from past to present. Looking for your favorite actors is a fun activity with your family, friends, or even if you travel alone. The photos of all of your Hollywood stars is worth the visit.

4. Universal Studios Hollywood is a nice visit for any movie lover. This is also a great place for Simpsons fans to come because they have a section of the park dedicated to the Simpsons. If you like good food then you should stop by Universal City Walk. Harry Potter fans have no fear, your butter beer is here! King Kong and Jaws are classic attractions that are as iconic as the park itself.

5. The Santa Monica Pier is a great outing for any beach lover. The pier has many attractions including a world famous Ferris wheel. The food is like the food from Coney Island. The 1920s style Carousel will take any old timer back to their childhood. The Santa Monica Pier is also great for outdoor concerts and other activities.

6. Disneyland is perhaps the most internationally popular tourist attraction in all of Southern California. The park offers family fun but at a rate that will keep the riff raft out. Downtown Disney offers family orientated dining at restaurants such as Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen and the Rainforest Cafe. Star Tours and Splash Mountain are excellent rollercoaster type attractions that will leave you thrilled at the top of your seat.

7. The Griffith Observatory is a great place to go alone or with a family. It offers a peaceful tranquil environment that will leave any outdoor enthusiast in awe. It is located on Mount Hollywood. It sits on the south side of Mount Hollywood which offers a pristine panoramic. View of downtown Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean. A must see for all science buffs and anyone with an appreciation of the sciences and astronomy.

8. Grand Central Market has been a downtown Los Angeles icon since 1917. It is a great place for gastronomy enthusiasts to wet their beaks so to speak to see the diversity the Los Angeles community has to offer. I grew up going here as a kid with my father in the late 1980s and early 1990s and the place has been gentrified. The once dark and dank environment it once was has been revamped with a wide variety of fusion style food.

9. Fisherman’s outlet is a place I still go to with my mother. The food is fresh and delicious. Don’t let the long lines sway you away. The wait is well worth it. The Mahi Mahi and the Jumbo shrimp are two of my favorites. The price isn’t cheap but the quality of the food is well worth it. A must stop for sea food enthusiasts.

10. 11. Hollywood Bowl/Disney Concert Hall is a must visit for music and architecture lovers. The Hollywood Bowl is open in the summer for outdoor venues and the Disney Concert Hall is open during the winter time for indoor venues. The Hollywood Bowl is a summertime favorite for date nights or family fun night. The Disney Concert Hall is an architectural marvel. If you think the outside Is magnificent then wait until you get a peak at the inside.
