Ken Griffey Jr. was the most prolific player of my generation. He played from April 3, 1989 — May 31, 2010. He was a true class class act on and off of the field. He was the most influential and most popular player in the 1990s. Griffey Jr. started to play pro baseball straight out of high school which is extremely rare. The most recent players to be drafted straight out of high school like Ken Griffey Jr. are Mookie Betts, Cody Bellinger, and Christian Yelich. Ken Griffey Jr. played for the Seattle Mariners, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Chicago White Sox during his illustrious 22 year career.
