Blog – “I can’t breathe”
The last words of a man named George Floyd who was murdered in broad daylight by the Minneapolis Police department. The officer who killed George Floyd was named Derek Chauvin. Former officer Derek Chauvin placed his knee on the neck of George Floyd for approximately 8 minutes and 46 seconds. There were three other officers who were complicit and charged with aiding and abetting. The fact that they did not try to stop it and they did not administer CPR on video was sufficient evidence to be formally charged as accomplices . The names of the officers charged are Tou Thao, Thomas Lane and J Alexander Kueng.
The video is very disturbing to watch especially the moments when George Floyd cried out for his mother. Every time they replay that on the news it brings me to tears. I was appalled that once the police officers found out he didn’t have a pulse they didn’t try to administer CPR. We at Academic Tutors USA stand with Black Lives Matter against racism and bigotry. George Floyd will not die in vain.
